Hey there! So I do have some questions.

By looking at the trailer and the information you have provided, this seems like it could be the game I’ve been waiting for, for years. But I do have a few questions / suggestions /concerns as well.

  1. Latency

I live in Australia, which is usually half a world away from the location of any server, so I find that latency plays a large part in the games I play. Some games, just as Archeage, are very dependent on ping and it stops you being able to play certain classes because spell/attack timers are based on animations. It also makes pvp more difficult because you can be up to half a second behind anyone else. How dependent will DEO game-play be upon latency?

  1. PvP

You have mention world faction pvp and loot drops on death. Will this be restricted to a number of small select zones or will it be a major part of the game play in the open world? Also is there any protection against players using bugs/exploits to gain advantage in pvp? Will there protection to stop DEO becoming a zerg fest such as games like Albion online?

  1. Community

This is partly more a suggestion as well. How will the factions be structured? Will there be an elected heroes type system who are then responsible for leading the nations? Is there a system which rewards leading raids and/or pvp events? Or a system that rewards activity in the community? I personally feel that these intricate social system structures in mmo’s plays a large part in making people feel involved in the community

  1. RNG

How much will rng play a part in the game? Many Asian mmo’s have upgrade rng, where people have to farm for hours for a ‘chance’ at upgrading their items. Or will it be just simply get the reagents, craft it and it works kind of scenario?

  1. Energy

The energy system looks really interesting. I like the concept of having a limited supply to do crafting. However other games which used this system have had issue with people multi-accounting, often running 6+ accounts to get the most out of the crafting system. Does your system take this into consideration or have a way to limit accounts per user?

  1. Gameplay

Is there a max level cap, and if so what is and how long is the estimated time for people to reach that cap?

Personally Related Suggestive Questions  =P

  1. Women Avatars on Launch

Personally I really dislike playing male avatar’s, but im really keen on participating in Alpha. Is the decision not to add women avatars into the alpha subject to change? Because I really hope so =)

  1. Recapture

Will there be the use of recapture or forms when logging into the game? This is a weird question but I have a strange bug on my computer that doesn’t show forms, which came from a Microsoft update. Unfortunately Microsoft don’t know how to fix it. I had to register this account on my laptop, but ideally I would like to play on my main pc without having to format it.

Hey Saphy! Sorry for the delay, I was out of routine for the holidays. You can get near instant responses in our Discord. Let's get to your questions:

DEO has slower combat and most abilities are subject to a "Global Cooldown" where you can queue up your next ability while performing the current one. For the most part, you shouldn't notice much of a difference while playing with 100-200 ms latency.

World PvP is not faction-based. Factions serve more of story-telling role for the PvE side of DEO. You will see some faction-based instanced PvP but we will provide more details as we release that content for testing later down the road. World PvP is focused on contesting zones that offer valuable resources nodes and/or monsters. But DEO is not a PvP-based MMORPG, so no one will be forced into PvP to progress. It is more about giving you the option of seeking greater rewards in exchange for greater risk. As for bugs/exploits, we will of course address these things as necessary.

Again, this goes back to PvP not being faction-based. Player clans can assemble and control PvP zones as they wish, nothing is scripted or forced by the system. DEO has a player-driven economy, a party system, a clan system, player-ran markets, and so on. How you choose to use these social features to enrich your experience is completely up to you. You will notice a reoccurring theme about DEO giving you numerous tools and then letting you choose your path.

Basically, you get the materials, craft it, and you're ready to roll. However, every item has a "quality" sub-tier that is determined based on how well you do while harvesting and/or crafting. Harvesting and crafting are performed using a set of abilities, similar to what you are used to for combat.

The energy system was actually removed prior to Pre-Alpha but will be re-introduced for Alpha 1. Multiple accounts wont have an effect because you will not be able to freely trade between those accounts.

The level cap is 100 for each attribute. Any kind of a time estimate would have way too many variables to be accurate.

Alpha 1 probably wont see the female option enabled, but Alpha 2 surely will. Consider that developing them both in parallel early on doubles the work necessary for bug fixing and updating.

No, you wont have to go through Google reCAPTCHA to log into the game.

Many of these questions were quite loaded, but I did my best to answer what I could. Keep in mind we are not even to the start of first Alpha test, many things are still a work in progress.

Life is a dream for the wise, a game for the fool, a comedy for the rich, a tragedy for the poor.
